Being on a too-long break, I’ve stopped paying attention to the date or what day it is.
The distant sound of azan and the daily routine of the rest of my family members would roughly tell me the time, but apart from that – no watch sits on my wrist, so I look at the numbers on the pages of the book I read instead.
So when this came in the mail…
I’ve got to say I was a little confused in the beginning. Happy that I got to hear from a dear friend, but WHOA it’s mid-September already?!
I can’t even remember if I’m turning 23 or 24. Stopped counting after 20, really.
Farah is the kind of friend every person needs. She’s not afraid to tell it like it is, her creativity & work ethic is admirable and being the tallest one out of our lot, even bouncers are scared of her. Hahah okay I’m kidding about that last one.
Our friendship has lasted over 10 years, through long distances and tough circumstances. We’re both so bad at replying texts (a trait I share with my closest buddies, apparently) but we’ll always pick up where we left off.
A silly one here for memories’ sake. Nasyrah is missing from the photo. *cringing badly at our headscarves*
